On this day in 1939, Edward Hopper finished Cape Cod Evening (National Gallery of Art). The collie? After a failed library trip to research the breed, Hopper spotted the perfect dog in a parked car. Jo befriended the girl with it while Hopper sketched, capturing a moment of art history. 🐕🎨
