There's NO autonomy in #HISD. Mike Miles refused to let the schools do any STAAR preparation but STAAR scores are a part of teachers'/principals' evaluation? There's ZERO training on MAP testing yet it's a part of the evaluation. This is only on paper nothing will change.

This first year teacher gives some insight on the insane teaching conditions at the NES schools. Students have to take a STAAR History exam in the 8th and 11th grade but the 6th and 7th grade teachers ONLY teach history two hours a day. This is setting students up for FAILURE!
