Very proud to present our plan for the regeneration of post-16 education to the Chancellor. I also took the opportunity to set out of the importance of investment in further, higher, adult and prison education ahead of the Budget.

Today our GS met with the Chancellor. She stressed the importance of FE to the government’s plans for economic recovery, and how these won’t be achieved without proper investment and a pay rise. They also spoke about the need for an entirely new funding framework for HE.

This was a very enjoyable way to spend a Saturday morning. Thanks to National Education Union South East for the invite and to all attendees for their engagement.

Just over two years ago I cooked dinner for some friends. After dinner one of them said ‘we need to talk about pasta making’. Tonight I cooked the same dinner, sat at the same table. I was reminded that we never got to have that conversation. I miss you Agnes Flues - we all do.
