Michael C. K. Wong, from the The Larrosa Group discussed his work on cooperative catalysis. He presented Ru-P7 complexes with a goal of discovering improved or novel reactivity, as well as a hypothesized catalytic cycle for Ru-NHN cooperative meta-alkylation. #EPSRC #CDT

Challenging project, from Ali Najmi at the The Larrosa Group. Very much looking forward to the development of this research! #EPSRC #CDT #iCAT

Orla Conboy, from Procter Group, talked about the configurational stability and concise synthesis of enantioenriched benzothiophene S-oxides, for the application of these molecules to asymmetric synthesis. #EPSRC #CDT #iCAT

Victoria Jiang gave a great talk on the use of coupling reagents for the movement of small molecule motors. Very interesting to see a more efficient approach to screening fuels than the traditional single-variable-at-a-time approach. Well done Victoria Jiang! #EPSRC #CDT #iCAT

Also representing #iCAT, Ethan Lim from James Group, discussed the interesting topic of room temperature electron-catalysed α-arylation. Great work! #EPSRC #CDT

Another great presentation from George Bilionis, a member of the Giacomo Crisenza lab. His talk discussed his research in electrosynthesis; more specifically, electrochemical ‘cut and sew’ methodologies for sustainable alkyne and aryne functionalization. #EPSRC #CDT #iCAT

Great day yesterday at the Joint CDT Conference with TECS and Bristol ChemSynth CDTs, SynTech CDT University of Cambridge and rEaCt. Congratulations to all participants! Looking forward to cohort 5's turn next year. #EPSRC #CDT #iCAT #TECS #SynTech #rEaCt

Huge congratulations to all of our The University of Manchester chemical scientists, who have been awarded a Royal Society of Chemistry Prize in recognition of brilliance in research and innovation. Three scientists and one team have been honoured with one of this year's #RSCPrizes👇 manchester.ac.uk/discover/news/…

#NewGroupMember🚨 Maria Kolyagina joins us for for Integrated CATalysis (iCAT) CDT PhD, working in collaboration with Turner Biocatalysis Maria will work on biological applications of sulfonium salt photochemistry!
