More brilliance from Matthew Evans “Viewed through this lens, someone in a wheelchair has an impairment, but is only disabled by the physical infrastructure we have put in place. The argument is that society can be disabling, but that we can design our world in more inclusive ways”

“And the inconvenient truth is that we can only work at improving a fraction of the things we’d really like to improve at a time.” 👏🏼 Matthew Evans

Thank you David Didau - this is so true and so good… “That a book you believed you knew now glints with fresh meaning, like light striking a familiar surface from a different angle.”

I worked for 40 years in schools. As a teacher, middle leader, senior leader, part of a trust team, and as a freelance consultant. I worked with over 1000 schools across the UK and met some truly amazing people along the way. Teachers are incredible. They change lives. Thank you.

Great thread. Quality not quantity and meaningful writing for early writers is key. When we have focused on this and developing transcriptional skills, we have seen a huge improvement in enjoyment and success with writing!

Beautiful from Carl Hendrick on the impact of reading: “To inhabit unfamiliar minds, to wrestle with conflicting ideas, to sit with discomfort rather than resolve it prematurely got me out of myself and fostered a kind of humility, a recognition that my instincts were not final.”
