Interesting to hear from BCSARA on CBContheisland w/ Gregor Craigie, that most call outs are related to slips, trips, & falls. The same hazards we see in I.A.T.S.E. Local 168 - Vancouver Island workplaces, & a major cause of WorkSafeBC claims. Sensible shoes for work and play make can make life safer.

Yesterday was first day of Pride month & I.A.T.S.E. Local 168 - Vancouver Island was out in force. We represented our Kin at ZZ Top show at SOFMC & we provided our care & talents to the Victoria Pride Society Big Gay Dog Walk at City of Victoria Banfield Park. Thanks to the volunteers who gave their time.

MOVIES! We have a motion at council this week asking staff to look into preserving downtown movies theatres, incentivizing new theatres, and supporting film. We're at risk of losing all our large downtown theatres in Victoria - bad for culture, vibrancy and the economy! #yyj

As the production labour supplier to SOFMC, I.A.T.S.E. Local 168 - Vancouver Island has enjoyed working on almost every single show there. But we're not naming names of the very few artists who haven't been pleasant. So we look forward to whomever arrives on our shores next.
