First day of fieldwork in Narsarsuaq, #Greenland - our drone takes off to find an opening in the ice: A #GEUS + Faculty of Natural Sciences - Aarhus University collaboration to measure winter dynamics of fjords. Thanks to Villum Fonden for supporting me.
A very successful second day of measurements yesterday! We are watching the drone closely through a video link and binoculars while it is flying. Fingers crossed for tomorrow and even more data #GEUS Villum Fonden
Yesterday was our last day of measurements and the day included this spectacular fjord view. While getting the drone ready to measure the water in the fjord, we spotted several seals. #GEUS Science at VILLUM #Greenland #WomenInScience
It's almost #EGU23! Are you attending? Drop by our "Meet the Editors of The Cryosphere" network session on Wednesday 26 Apr, 11:00–12:30 at the EGU booth in Hall X2. We welcome your questions and feedback about publishing in The Cryosphere. EGU Cryosphere @egu-cr.bsky.social European Geosciences Union Chris Derksen
Great to see some of my muskox footage, including this timelapse, used in BBC's "Our Changing Planet" - our part fabulously presented by Chris Packham bbc.co.uk/programmes/p0f…
Looking for a postdoc for a really exciting position: Antarctic field work (🤞) this 23/24 summer, collecting MT data and then using it to understand and model ice loss. 2 years, Hobart-based, working with me, Anya M. Reading and the Australian Centre for Antarctic Science (ACEAS) team. DM/email questions! ❄️🧊
Very fortunate to have spent the last week in beautiful NW Greenland visiting #GCNet weather stations with Nanna B. Karlsson and other amazing #GEUS and Universität Tübingen colleagues. Big thanks to Villum Fonden and the ESA Earth Observation Living Planet Fellowship program for supporting this work!
