José Marrero Valentin, neuroscience graduate student, veteran of the US Army, and now Proteomics expert has finished his two week internship at the National Resource. His mouse model is investigating the proteomic changes associated with Gulf War Illness. Great work José!

What a productive couple of weeks! Our summer interns, Thomas and Natalie, have jumped right in learning about bottom-up proteomics. We are glad they are with us! Natalie is from the University of Central Arkansas and Thomas currently attends Harding University.

Meet our latest graduate intern at the National Resource! McKinnon is here from KUMC and is observing, learning, and experiencing proteomics firsthand. As part of his award he received a free phospho-TMT experiment, travel, food and lodging. He is here for two weeks.

Even though I found out that McKinnon supports a group that I don't personally agree with we still found a way to get along. The game last night didn't end in the way I would have wanted but the last two weeks were awesome! Safe travels back to KUMC.

One of the best parts of my work here at the National Resource is working with really talented people in the Proteomics community! Some of those people come on-site like Dr. Taher did to learn some new workflow and take it back to their university to expand their services.

Two weeks went by really fast! Kathryn from UDel prepped her chicken serum samples by S-Trap, collected data on both a Fusion and TimsTOF, and was able to use the ProteoDA workflow developed by our bioinformatics team to analyze her data. Not a bad way to spend your internship!
