ARISE The ARISE team worked with the filmmaker, Sutapa Deb, sharing experiences, insights and findings from the participatory research work to orient her to the communities and the issues specific to them. She then proceeded to explore the issues using a journalistic lens.

ARISE Sutapa Deb The relationship of trust between the ARISE researchers, who have been based in field sites, and community members and government officials enabled them to introduce the purpose of the film and solicit participation from them to speak candidly on camera with the filmmakers.
