We pray for all children caught up in armed conflict; for child soldiers; for children removed from their families or witnessing horrific treatment of their families or neighbours.

We pray for all who have the opportunity to rebuild their lives and regain something of a healthy childhood. We pray that they be strengthened and helped to overcome the physical injuries and mental scars of conflict.

We give thanks for all whom we love and care for, for all who love and care for us. We pray for those with whom we feel distant or misunderstood. We pray for those who feel unloved or forgotten, that they may find their way to love and learn that they are cherished by God.

On World Hepatitis Day we pray for all affected by this disease of the liver and those affected by other chronic diseases. We pray for those involved in the care and treatment of sufferers and all who have been involved in furthering the progress in treatments and therapy.

We pray for the end to all trafficking of people. We pray for those who have been abused and misused in this way and pray that they are enabled to find a secure, safe place to settle and perpetrators brought to justice.

We note the International Day of Friendship (30th) and pray for all our friends near and far. We pray for those who feel they are without friends and those who are anxious about making friends.

We ask God’s blessing on friendships within our communities, church, colleagues, and friendships across divides and distance. May we learn from Jesus, friend to the friendless.
