Universities showed key climate leadership when so many divested from fossil fuels. Banking with some of the world's top fossil fuel financers undermines this leadership. Follow Make My Money Matter's campaign and email your university to call for them to cut these toxic ties 👇

Great to see another university, this time in Scotland's oil and gas capital, committing to divest from fossil fuels! 😍 Congratulations to RGU GoGreen and People & Planet for this win!

In case you missed it... Last month, Cambridge University put Barclays Bank on notice, threatening to leave the bank if it didn't stop financing oil and gas expansion. University of Leeds already ditched Barclays because of its climate failures. Time for Barclays to finally go fossil free.

🗳️2024 is a pivotal year for #ClimateJustice Tipping Point UK 🦋 @tippingpointuk.bsky.social will run FREE grassroots group trainings all year – from the basics of climate justice to the nitty gritty of movement power building. 🌐 Online, all welcome. 🗓️ Weekly 🕕 12pm/6pm tpnt.uk/training/ 🧵👇

No surprises here: Barclays Bank taking the tiniest baby-steps when science and justice require massive, rapid changes to their approach. Anything less than a full commitment to half financing for fossil fuel expansion betrays us all. Barclays must do better.

In 2020 University of Oxford pledged to divest from fossil fuels But years later they've exploited loopholes in the existing policy to *increase* investments in the sector Great work by Students Organising for Sustainability🌍 Invest for Change on enforcing this policy By Attracta Mooney ft.com/content/884846…

NEW: Student groups call out University of Oxford for *increasing* its fossil fuel investments, despite 2020 divestment commitment. 📢Oxford students & alumni, email university leaders to urge action here: shorturl.at/pyNXZ Full story in Financial Times 👇 ft.com/content/884846…

BIG universities like Cambridge & Oxford are teaming up in search of a bank to manage their cash that doesn't fund new fossil fuels - notable emphasis on gas Will generate competition on climate in the sector 🤞 Barclays Bank new policy would disqualify it ft.com/content/6c1dd9…

Huge congratulations to Liverpool Hope University, the 109th to divest from fossil fuels! There's no getting around it: the fossil fuel industry is hellbent on ignoring the science and trashing our future. They shouldn't be getting a penny of university money (cough Imperial College London)
