Demand losses in recent years seem to be sticking in May. YTD demand is up, but strip out the February cold snap and the underlying trend shows it's down again. Gas-weighted IP losses are every bit the match for strong gains in power this year. #ONGT Center on Global Energy Policy

An excellent graph from Cheniere Energy Inc. illustrating the (US) #LNG Ramp 2025 to 2029. Simple figures roughly ~11 Bcf/d of incremental NatGas demand. Note, this doesn't include Canada nor Mexico LNG which combined add several additional Bcf/d. #Montney $TOU.TO $ARX.TO $CNQ.TO $TPZ.TO

Love this piece. My Center on Global Energy Policy colleagues Anne-Sophie Corbeau and Tatiana Mitrova really lock in on a high-level re-alignment of the world order for energy. Insightful A+ work. #ONGT #OOTT

Beware Henry Hub. Nice graph to show, amidst plummeting rig counts and job cuts by Chevron & others in places, where the incremental gas supply for LNG is supposed to originate. A stark example of how non-integrated #LNG projects are about to work or not. #ONGT Center on Global Energy Policy

A signal to the market and DC that the country’s largest buyer of US gas has some concern about where its incremental gas will be coming from in the future. Look for US #LNG producers to sign more deals like this one to create some integration. #ONGT Center on Global Energy Policy

JKM netbacks come to North America. Cheniere will pay a #LNG-linked price, based on Platts JKM after deductions for fixed shipping costs and a liquefaction fee. The IPM is subject to Cheniere making a positive FID with respect to the Sabine Pass expansion. #ONGT Commodity Insights Gas

Ira Joseph Center on Global Energy Policy Self destruction. BASF just tip of iceberg. Wonder if this has been quatified regarding chemical and manufacturing plant closures and BCF losses? brusselssignal.eu/2024/05/german…

PlumberMD Ira Joseph Center on Global Energy Policy Not really self destruction. These facilities are shutting down because of high gas prices. Gas prices are high because Russia unilaterally and illegally shut down its pipeline gas exports.
