I just finished "Our Dear Friends in Moscow" by Andrei Soldatov and Irina Borogan Heartbreaking. I was in my 30s during the 1990s; I'd seen the old USSR and I was full of hope for the new Russia. The book filled me with nostalgia and sadness for what might have been. /1
