I was starting to worry that the government was not addressing the real problems in the country, so I’m relieved to hear that today they’ve decided to regulate football and dredge up a fracas from 40 years ago.

Would Govt. prefer us to sell the workshop, yard, offices, stock or staff room to pay the ludicrous BPR IHT if my mum dies? 45 years of unimaginable graft, risk, sacrifice (& paying taxes) - but then shafted simply because we run a good family business & provide good stable jobs.

Trades Union Congress You need to have a word with Rachel, whose tax hikes are causing bars to close. Perhaps you should also think more deeply about the TUC’s support for increasing taxation. It’s hurting your members

Nope. The State Pension is a benefit (and there is nothing wrong with that) paid for by current taxpayers. The Triple Lock is making it increasingly unsustainable.

Totally agree. My VAT bill is enough to put anyone under. Maybe i should just not pay, because i cannot! Where will the tax revenues be then?. Worse than they were over a year ago. #TaxedOut #sackrachel

This is patently false. It took me all of ten seconds to find official statistics that there are 679 more (not 2000) full-time-equivalent GPs in June '25 compared with '24. You also left out the fact that there are now 216 fewer nurses. Why are you misleading the public?

The current Chancellor is overseeing more devastation in Hospitality, than during Covid. She needs replacing with someone who will support and understand the importance of the UKs 5th biggest sector. Over 80,000 job losses on her watch since her Budget. Mainly young people.

Labour MPs: Uni educated: 90% Millionaires: 75% White collar: 87% Blue collar: 12% They've done a terrific job of making the working class think that they understand and represent them. Truth is they're more at home in Islington than a working persons' club. Source: Grok 4

Alan Smith Alan, I used to think they were just clueless, until I saw this clip of Rachel Reeves as Shadow Chancellor calling NIC hikes a “tax on jobs” and warning how damaging they’d be. Now she’s doing exactly that. They’re deliberately harming the economy. The question is why?
