This morning at #ISERT22 @ISERTtheology we’ve been looking at meaning in life, and meaninglessness, among older people in Finland. Fascinating conversation left me reflecting that not all the meanings we find are beneficial to ourselves or society.

Today at @ISERTtheology we discussed questions of meaning and meaninglessness with @SaarelainenSuvi and Dr Brenda Mathijssen We got a good insight into the end of life context and the related questions of human flourishing.

@WeghausW gives us a great insight into her qualitative dissertation project on the theology of theologically uneducated people. Reminds me of the vivid discussion about #livedtheology and #ordinarytheology #isert2022 @ISERTtheology

At #isert2022 the name of its founding father Hans van der Ven (1940-2019) Radboud Filosofie Theologie & Religiewetenschappen is mentioned many times. His approach to empirical theology and his insistence on methodological rigor has influenced the international community of scholars deeply. @ISERTtheology

It was a privilege to discuss at this panel with Francesco Zaccaria and other colleaugues the future of empirical research in #theology. #ISERT22

As well as delegates from Europe (in which I include the UK!) our #ISERT22 @ISERTtheology conference in Assisi has brought together delegates from North America, South America, Africa, Indonesia and India.
