I had a lovely time playing at Solas Festival last weekend! Big thanks to Iona Reid & Juliette Lemoine for playing with me and being such lovely humans to work with ❤️

For the Scots Trad Music Awards 2023, all SEVEN bands nominated for Live Act of the Year are all-male bands. This means that 22 men & 0 women have been nominated in this category. Gender equality is a problem in the Scottish trad scene. MG ALBA Hands Up For Trad The BIT Collective

🎄 ‘Isla Be Home for Christmas’ 🎄 One of the best puns! Peter Corfield, a fiddler in New Brunswick, wrote this tune for me in Dec 2019. It became the name of the last track on my album, of which this video is a sample, performed at Celtic Connections in Jan 2023. Full video on YouTube.

Would anyone like 2 tickets to see The Outside Track at Celtic Connections tonight??? This stupid storm means I can’t get to Glasgow tonight! Absolutely gutted! They’re a wonderful band - you’d have a great time!! The Outside Track Celtic Connections

Just back from a lovely wee tour in Germany & Luxembourg with The Outside Track! 🎻🇩🇪🇱🇺 P.S. Seán loves selfies… #tour #touringmusician #trad #tradmusic #tradmusician #germany #luxembourg

I’m crying reading this. This is a huge blow to the Scottish culture sector. This makes me so angry. I’m about to apply to the fund to record & release my 2nd album. Scottish Government - Sort this out now. Where is the additional £100m funding that was promised back in October 2023?

Please listen to us Angus Robertson John Swinney Yes funds are going to the Arts but you need to understand that the Open Fund is where it starts. You can't just fund the top end. We know funds aren't limitless, but there has to better solutions here. #NoArtWithoutArtists

Thank you, Ben Macpherson MSP. Now will First Minister & Scottish Government listen? Louise Welsh: “The arts are the soundtrack of your life, the patterns on your clothes, the poem you read at your mother’s funeral, the poem someone read at your wedding.” scotsman.com/arts-and-cultu…

Brian Ferguson The Scotsman For clarity and completeness, this is the full letter I sent on behalf of many affected constituents who wrote to me. The Scottish Government is very strongly committed to supporting the arts and culture and, in a constructive spirit, I hope this particular fund can be restored.

Great evening Martin Johnson celebrating St Andrews Day at Scotland House Brussels . Very talented Scottish trad duo Isla Ratcliff and Evie Waddell wow’d us all with a journey through Scotland’s languages and songs.
