Congratulations to Billy Fogarty, Larry Kelly and Ross Higgins from University Of Limerick on winning the Best Paper Award at #ITRN2023 for their paper on “Mapping Surface Roughness for Escooters using smartphones”.
Thanks very much Jack Chambers TD your opening and your interesting insights into how we need to decarbonise transport. Great start to #ITRN2023!
Hoping Hannah Daly still delivers her keynote presentation at #ITRN2023 tomorrow morning at ATU Sligo even though she’s been thanked already! Thanks also Orla Flynn for joining us at our conference dinner!
What a treat?! Hannah Daly of UCC Ireland presented her keynote address on “Keeping the transport sector within its carbon budget” on Day 2 of #ITRN2023. Plenty of audience engagement afterwards.

Delighted with how #ITRN2023 at ATU Sligo unfolded: a warm welcome from Orla Flynn, a motivational opener by Jack Chambers TD, great keynote presentations by Anne Graham and Hannah Daly and 27 academic papers presented over 2 days. Check out the video. youtu.be/9ySYuHSau2s?fe…
Why don't girls cycle to school? There's more to it than you'd think! Just published paper from focus group findings. Thanks to all who contributed, esp Professor AOIFE AHERN, UCD and Taylor & Francis Research Insights for publishing it. tandfonline.com/doi/full/10.10…
“…because they don’t see other girls cycling”. Addressing this “vicious circle”will involve more than safe infrastructure. Interesting research from University Of Limerick lecturer, Ross Higgins.
Well done Páraic Carroll and everyone else in University College Dublin who contributed, for making this happen!
Great to see investment in cycling research in Limerick. Well done Limerick Council - Comhairle Luimnigh & University Of Limerick.
Many thanks to Ross Higgins of University Of Limerick for being Chair of the network for the last 3 years which saw the organisation of an online, a joint, and a standalone conference. Thanks for your service. We wish Ross Higgins the best in his transport research endeavors in University Of Limerick.
Day 1 of TRA Conference was topped off with a nice reception for Young Researchers hosted by ITRN.ie & FEHRL communications. ITRN.ie. Chair Enda Murphy gave everyone a “céad míle fáilte”! #TRA2024
