Capitalism’s drive doesn’t automatically lead to a convergence on the “content” of worker resistant. Even in the terms of this paragraph, workers fight for all sorts of things and it’s burying all the important dynamism in the phrase: “and the like.” Actual materialism asks why.

Re-reading parts of the Graeber & Wengrow book, The Dawn of Everything. Utterly brilliant in its scope. But they throw materialism completely out the window and treat the whole history of human hierarchy as a matter of free and spontaneous choice. A strange view.
