It was a pleasure to tour University of Windsor Provost @DrRDAguirre with Robert Michael McKay on the Detroit River to see the Gordie Howe International Bridge and our research facility for freshwater conservation FREC along with grad students from GLIER at UWindsor and UWindsor Integrative Biology

Christine Madliger giving a tour de force talk regarding transport stress for the purposes of conservation biology today at #ICBF24

It was a pleasure to give a talk based research conducted by UWindsor Integrative Biology MSc student Dane Roberts - co-supervised by Christine Madliger from Algoma University

As more species become imperilled the possibility of translocation or reintroduction becomes more likely. We need a better understanding of the stress associated with transportation for conservation efforts. This work was led by Ashley Watt Christine Madliger Andy Turko Ali Mokdad

A big congrats to our very own UWindsor Integrative Biology Dane Roberts who successfully defended his MSc thesis today focused on transport stress for Atlantic salmon during #reintroduction efforts - co-advised with Christine Madliger

Only seems appropriate to engrave Dane Roberts famous quote heard regularly during his research on transport stress with our fish hatchery partners on his graduation coffee table gift

So amazing to see my friend and colleague Dane Roberts absolutely crush his MSc defence today!!🎉 his work has inspired my thesis and I’m sure much more research to come in our field. Congratulations Dane!! 🥳

Congratulations Dane Roberts!

Our very own UWindsor Integrative Biology Olivia M. Galloway is featured today for her impactful research to better understand how to reintroduce lake sturgeon back to the Great Lakes. She is in Ohio releasing sturgeon with our partners U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service uwindsor.ca/dailynews/2024…

Olivia Galloway is focused on preserving lake sturgeon, a crucial part of the Great Lakes ecosystem. 🐟🌊 Her research at GLIER at UWindsor aims to improve reintroduction programs and boost survival rates for this ancient and essential species. More: uwindsor.ca/dailynews/2024…

Could not be prouder of our team, Dane Roberts & Olivia M. Galloway , who are incredible University of Windsor research ambassadors working to restore imperilled Lake Sturgeon with a variety of American partners, including (among others) U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service

A thrilling day today - with both Ashley Watt and Dane Roberts UWindsor Integrative Biology students graduated with a PhD and MSc respectively - congrats to both of them! Proud University of Windsor UWindsor Alumni now!

Congratulations Ashley Watt and Dane Roberts!

FREC (a partnership with Town of LaSalle ) hosted Windsor-Essex school teachers today to inform them of the opportunities we provide schools, including student tours and other pedagogy tools developed with UWindsor Integrative Biology GLIER at UWindsor

Our lab continues to examines ways to mitigate the environmental mismatch issues that captive bred animals (intended for reintroduction) face - examining effects of tank colour on phenotype for salmon conservation led by our very own UWindsor Integrative Biology grad student Maiza Saqib

Planning to be at the Society of Canadian Aquatic Sciences conference? Meet Trevor Pitcher, co-Editor-in-Chief of CJFAS, and chat about your latest research. 📰💡🐟 Trevor E. Pitcher

Dane Roberts (our current GLIER at UWindsor lab manager) presenting his MSc thesis research (co-advised by Christine Madliger ) regarding potential transport stress during reintroduction efforts at the Society of Canadian Aquatic Sciences conference

It’s an incredible pleasure to have such amazing UWindsor Integrative Biology GLIER at UWindsor graduate students and post doctoral fellows come together at the Society of Canadian Aquatic Sciences conference - we are all looking forward to the joint meeting next year with IAGLR

Kicking off our UWindsor Integrative Biology Honours thesis colloquium with a talk from our very own Honours student Chris, co-mentored by Dane Roberts , who studied aspects of lake sturgeon reintroduction efforts

Massive congrats to our very own UWindsor Faculty of Science UWindsor Integrative Biology Olivia M. Galloway who successfully defended her Masters thesis today focused on conservation efforts for Lake Sturgeon and has an environmental science job starting in a week!
