Terrific inspiring words from my lovely wonderful colleague Vanitha Regunathan. Explaining exactly why we’re developing our tier 3 workforce to meet the needs of our population through our frailty academy Royal Surrey British Geriatrics Society #ChooseGeriatrics

When they said ten year plan I didn’t realise that was the lead in time ! We await with bated breath. I just hope appropriately planned funds to drive the three shifts and that this is based on evidence based interventions for older people #ChooseGeriatrics British Geriatrics Society

Our Frailty Hub brings together articles, national guidelines, and best practice relevant to frailty. It's a great place to go for everything from an introduction to frailty to implementing a frailty service. buff.ly/AYwlJmV

A systematic evaluation confirming that multimodal interventions, especially multicomponent exercise programs are most effective at reducing frailty, compared with single component approaches. #Frailty #Geriatrics

👀 Funds for evidence based models of care for older people with frailty, including front door frailty teams and H@H across Scotland 👏👏 We will not achieve a shift from hospital to community without a focus on well resourced MDTs able to deliver CGA British Geriatrics Society

When the BGS's journal Age and Ageing published the Electronic Frailty Index (eFI) in 2016, it was very influential and is used across the NHS to identify frailty within a population. This has now been made even better with the new and improved eFI2! buff.ly/p0j55fi

The incredible Fauja Singh has been used in Frailty Academy teaching for many years. A testament to healthy ageing and the power of exercise. And the socialisation he had in later life through community and celebrity. Sad to see he did not die of natural causes. Phenomenal life!
