Force entry, not beliefs. Stretch lines, not truths. Throw ladders, not shade. Size up scenes, not people. Pull ceilings, not others down.

July 7, 2016, changed Dallas forever. We honor the brave officers who gave their lives protecting our city. Their courage and sacrifice will never be forgotten. We carry their legacy with us – every day, in every step.

Scott Ruskin is out there pulling off the impossible rescuing 165 people in catastrophic flooding, managing triage with limited resources, and making life-or-death calls in a brutally dynamic environment. This isn’t disaster response; it’s disaster mastery on his first mission 😳

I get itβ€”it’s not for everyone. But for me, it jumpstarted my life. The training paved the way to a career in fire/EMS, the problem-solving experience shaped who I am, I earned my undergrad for free, and made lifelong friends. It was an opportunityβ€”one I’m grateful for.

The smartest firefighters I know are the first ones to laugh when they mess up. They know the difference between failing at something and being a failure.

Q for the fire/ems hive mind. How are y’all responding to iPhone crash alerts? (Just a single notification, no second callers etc.) Single unit? PD only? Full crash major response?
