So lovely to bump into Jacob L. Sakil IV in the Ministry of Justice yesterday. I first got to know Jacob when he was the Young Mayor of Lewisham about 15 years ago. Heβs now on the Youth Justice Board - so pleased to be able to randomly introduce him to youth justice minister Nic Dakin MP!

Ngl, starting today pretty distraught... but glad I ended the day celebrating 20yrs of the Young Mayor & Advisors Office championing young people's voices in Lewisham! Genuinely gives me hope to hear from Jacob L. Sakil IV & other Lewisham Young Mayors Office alumni - the next generation of leaders!πͺ

What is clear is the need to understand, respect and recognise the individual histories of Romani (Gypsy), Roma and Irish Travellers. Iβve made an ongoing commitment to be present, listen and learn about the great work The Traveller Movement is doing. Thank you for having me attend!
