Kicking off summer research with a stop at 國立政治大學 (though sadly missing Lev Nachman!). 政大 has a wonderful library collection of materials on modern China, Taiwan, and SE Asia; a good complement to the Cold War archives at 中研院

One highlight during fieldwork: seeking out bookstores across Taiwan (esp. when they have a cat!). Hualien has some great independent bookstores run by super friendly owners, lots of gems on Taiwanese local history and literature
