Friends are not enjoying their one wild and precious life.

On the phone: “Mom, I feel like lately all I do is write, write, write.” Uh, just realized, due to the horrified expressions of the mother and her two children next to me, that the Punjabi word for “write” sounds like “lick.” No, ma'am! I am just a poet. Ugh.

Has anyone taught themselves a language using books, YouTube, and other study materials? I would love some tips, ideas, and success stories. I am passionate about learning two additional languages, in addition to the three I speak fluently. Thanks in advance!
