The more I think about it the more horrified I am. Free Now heavily discount the tariff yet London taxi drivers must do the work or face license revocation from TfL because legally they are compellable. Even Uber minicab drivers have a theoretical right to refuse poor paying work

In intervening to separately negotiate fares other than the published fare, Free Now is independently making automated decisions to accept bookings and assign them to taxi drivers but without a license to do so which is a criminal offence. Why has TfL allowed this to happen?

Ranking is a time honoured trade right for London's black cab drivers. But FreeNow, with its so-called "Black Cab Express" service, is undermining Paddington station's rank by offering higher fares for taxi drivers willing to cut line & go ahead of fellow workers waiting on rank.
