All we ever wanted to do with the Home event (and the book) was raise awareness and raise funds for three Gaza charities. Here's how to donate to one of those charities, Medical Aid for Palestinians: map.org.uk/donate/donatio…

The conditions will never be perfect. You have to just sit down and make something. There will always be a valid excuse to not do it that day. Do it anyway.

This book has been one of the best £1.50's I've ever spent. Check this bit i just read about Jerry Lee getting expelled from the Southwestern Bible Institute, aged 15.

Once people start taking action, others join in too. 💪 Loving this amazing effort to plant thousands of trees to recreate lost woodlands in Lake District. 🌳 Time to deliver more of this. ✅ bbc.com/news/articles/…

RIP Paul Auster. I read the New York Trilogy in the 2nd year of my English degree, must have been about 2007. I had never read anything so mysterious before. I didn't know books like that existed. I remember turning to his author photo and thinking how dark and glamorous he was.

"America is about the synthesis of a lot of different cultures, and beauty arises out of that synthesis... Is it a gangster samurai hip-hop Eastern western? I want it to have elements of all those things, but not be any" one" Jim Jarmusch ~ Ghost Dog's 25th anniversary

I was wondering what China Miéville had been up to. I saw him at a Pages of Hackney event back in 2012. l vividly remember him nailing Boris Johnson's soaking up of the London Olympics goodwill at every conceivable opportunity. He referred to him as a "ninja of bumptiousness" haha

Couple of sightings out in the wild. Sanderson's Isle in @CityBooksinHove, The Litten Path in News From Nowhere. The Litten Path turns 5 this year. I was 28 when I started it, 31 when I finished. 2 years later it was out. Big up Salt Books for taking a chance on it

One of many great bits from Gwendoline Riley's debut Cold Water, published when she was 23 so I assume written earlier. An unbelievable talent

Superb, must-watch documentary about South Yorkshire police brutality at Orgreave during the 1984-85 miners strike, and prosecution of miners described as "the biggest frame up ever", now on Netflix.
