Yesterday our wonderful colleague Jenny Skrifvars successfully defended her doctoral dissertation on asylum interviewing and decisionmaking practices in Finland. What a moment of pride for those of us who have had the pleasure of closely following her PhD journey!

We officially launched our Psych-AID Network last Friday. Thank you to all of our speakers Maahanmuuttovirasto, Ferdinand Garoff, @sara_landstrom, Jan Antfolk, julia korkman, Jenny Skrifvars, Hedayat Selim 🍉 , Rasmus Ahlgren, Obed Kwame Appiah, and Malin Ekelund.




Our PI Jan Antfolk presented research today at #APLS2025 on questions asked in official asylum interviews with sexual minorities. Findings show low use of open questions and reliance on western narratives of sexuality. Further research and training is needed!


Our post doc researcher Jenny Skrifvars presented today at #APLS2025 on developing & evaluating a training programme in legal psychology for Finnish asylum officials. They found that officials' knowledge of best practice questioning improved post training & at 5 month follow up.
