Lou Scheffer has a nice ("journey to a connectome") blog entry discussing comparative connectomics and some experiences from Janelia Fly EM : janelia.org/project-team/f…

here are a few thoughts on the importance of building and organizing a team with many great collaborators when doing large-scale science efforts Janelia Fly EM @herrsaalfeld Viren Jain : janelia.org/project-team/f…

I just announced at cold spring harbor #cshldros that Janelia Fly EM and Google (Viren Jain Michał Januszewski ) will release the hemibrain connectome (#hemibrain) on January 22!

Proud to introduce Janelia Fly EM "hemibrain" #hemibrain: a connectome of the Drosophila central brain. biorxiv.org/content/10.110…. Viren Jain Michał Januszewski Please see overview website: janelia.org/project-team/f… Play with data on neuPrint: neuprint.janelia.org

It took both remarkable human and artificial intelligence to construct the most detailed map of a #brain to date biorxiv.org/content/10.110… a herculean effort! HHMI | Janelia Google AI Viren Jain Michał Januszewski Stephen Plaza Janelia Fly EM economist.com/science-and-te… The Economist

Our new pre-print is out (Janelia Fly EM Viren Jain Michał Januszewski ), now with more detailed explanations of methods and various system-level analyses made possible by having a dense, large-scale connectome biorxiv.org/content/10.110…

FlyEM Janelia Fly EM is hosting a live public discussion on the #hemibrain and our latest release this June 30th 11AM-1PM ET (zoom link TBA here on the day). Please come with questions/comments. No formal agenda but we can discuss different parts of the data and future plans.

Join Janelia Fly EM for a live #hemibrain public discussion on zoom today in a couple hours 11AM-1PM EST (hhmi.zoom.us/j/94083683709). Lots of interesting topics (geared toward data users) plus a preview of some new results!

Janelia Fly EM and Gary Huang paper introducing an unsupervised deep learning strategy to explore large EM volmes (arxiv.org/abs/2012.12175). Potential applications: clustering, object classification, and image search. Initial public version of image search for #hemibrain soon

happy to announce v1.2 release of the #hemibrain before the new year .. now with mitochondria predictions (around 6 million!) and available through "neuPrint+" neuprint.janelia.org. Janelia Fly EM Viren Jain youtu.be/RrKQ14pOqm4

We are experimenting with new ways to make EM data like the #hemibrain accessible for data discovery to complement neuPrint. clio.janelia.org (with neuroglancer) contains an image search app, an atlas of interesting EM phenomenon, and some annotation tools Janelia Fly EM.

Congratulations to our very own Gwyneth Card and HHMI | Janelia colleagues for this achievement!

Delighted that Fly Connectome group Dept of Zoology (and local collaborators @MRC_LMB) could play their part in finishing this major new #drosophila #connectome supported by Wellcome. Tweeprints coming soon, but links to data, tools and papers already at janelia.org/project-team/f…

🪄 You can now search this amazing new dataset from HHMI | Janelia for connectivity motifs. Try it in Neuprint. 🧵 ➡️ neuprint.janelia.org/?dataset=manc%…
