No good news for mental health in the Scottish Budget. The Mental Health Services budget line was £290.5M in last year's budget but cut in year. The announced figure is £270.5M for next financial year - so not even restoring the cut.

Today we publish our report on the ‘Your Views: Psychiatrists in Scotland’ survey that was carried out over the summer. This survey was open to any adult that had experience of care from a psychiatrist in Scotland in the last five years.

This shows our patients do experience a difference when the Psychiatrist has been trained to the level demanded by College, and appointed by a careful process.

people who say “why do we need [fine arts, humanities degrees, mid-budget films] when they don’t make a ton of money?” are insufferable. why do we need chrysanthemums? why do we need bonfires or baleen whales or the color blue? we just do. we just do.
