It’s official. I just receive a U01 grant from NIDA to study #psilocybin for tobacco addiction. To my knowledge it's the 1st grant from the US government in over a half century to directly study therapeutics of a classic #psychedelic. New era in legitimacy of psychedelic science.

Welcome to Part Two of @FloraParkin & janicecyli’s tour of hidden histories in the V&A collection, for Great Exhibition Road Festival. Arguing the importance of understanding the V&A as a Museum of the Anthropocene, this week takes in the industrial revolution and great acceleration. A 🧵

The V&A is a public museum in a country holding a disproportionate responsibility for the current climate crisis and histories of the Anthropocene. It is therefore important to use the V&A collection to expand the stories told about these histories, and the people involved.

While this may read like a story from a dystopian novel it is unfortunately the sorry state of affairs at the intersection of museum, universities, corporate interests and social media. Also interesting to see how BP/BM/Warwick uni would rather spend their money and time.
