MCP shifted tool calling from an SDK problem to a network problem. Cloudflare recognized that with the Agents SDK and is turning Workers into a great “tool calling platform” by simply doing what they’ve always done - serving network APIs well.

In my earliest interactions with UNIX-style systems decades ago, it seemed odd to me that SSH keys were referred to as “identities”. Once I figured it out, it never left my head.

I feel like, up till now, we've treated "zero trust architectures" as nice to have or comfortable with a half-baked implementation. If you're going to run AI agents, real ZTA is now a must.

Nice to see Elicitation as a capability in the latest draft MCP specification. Who's using this feature in interesting ways? modelcontextprotocol.io/specification/…

Join me at AI Engineer World's Fair next week in San Francisco! I'll be discussing how to secure agents using OAuth and what we are building at Keycard. The talk is Thursday, June 5 in the security track. See you there!

We need much better UI for agents and copilots using MCP tools. Who’s doing innovative design in this area? Get in touch!

Taking AI to production with reliability and safety is hard. Join me with Keycard + friends tomorrow night at GitHub in San Francisco for The Last Mile in AI where we will discuss how to solve these challenges. lu.ma/rp5hr4x7

How do we get agents out of the lab and into production? We have to solve the agent identity & access control problem first. If you’re in SF on Tuesday, you won’t want to miss Jared Hanson at The Lastmile meetup!

Anyone have best practices for maintaining .{ide}rules and {AGENT}.md files on teams where multiple IDEs and copilots are being used?

solid auth is a prerequisite for AI agents Jared Hanson knows a thing or two about it. if you are in SF and working on AI prod systems, I'd drop by 👇

Turns out, fixing APIs to specific OAuth servers let all sorts of security concerns be ignored. MCP is the canary in the coal mine for these problems.

For anyone at Confidential Computing Summit in SF today, I'm discussing with a panel at 2:05 PM the security infrastructure needed to take AI agents to production. Say hello and I'll chat about how Keycard can help!
