My brilliant, lovely colleague, @Ned_Smith, was recently diagnosed with terminal brain cancer. He's 37 & doesn't expect to see 40. He's recording videos for his 4 children to answer questions he would have answered if cancer hadn't struck. Please help him generate questions & RT.

How does exercise affect our brain? We recently discovered that an acute bout of aerobic exercise affects specific interneurons in our motor cortex. Check out the details in our latest paper here (50 day free access): authors.elsevier.com/a/1doTk15hTtnW… Université de Montréal CRIUGM @UBC_BrainLab

Don't miss this symposium at #ASNR2023! Speakers will share how the effects of aerobic #exercise on #brain function and #neuroplasticity can be leveraged and combined with #neurorehabilitation approaches for better outcomes. There's still time to register! asnr.com/i4a/ams/meetin…

Aerobic exercise not only improves cardiovascular health, but also has marked effects on brain function. Maybe we can use AE to help positively shape neuroplasticity for behavior in neurorehab? Looking forward to this symposium with Keith McGregor and Jason Neva !

Our recent meta-analysis showed that a single session moderate or high-intensity aerobic exercise decreases inhibition in our motor cortex. See our paper for more details: authors.elsevier.com/sd/article/S01… Congratulations to Layale Youssef for this awesome work! Université de Montréal CRIUGM
