I can't overstate the significance of today's ICJ advisory opinion. Major takeaways: — Israel's occupation of Palestinian territory* is illegal & must end as rapidly as possible *this includes Gaza — Israel's conduct amounts to racial segregation & apartheid

I don't know how many times I watched it and cried, because she is so incredibly strong and deserved it to win. She kept going, didn't give in to the dehumanization and hatred and got the gold medal she deserved. #ImaneKhelif

As we mark 75 years of the Geneva Conventions we also mark 310 days of Israel’s genocide; 57 years of Israel’s illegal occupation; and 76 years of Israel’s ongoing Nakba and Israel’s systematic violations of every tenant of the Geneva Conventions with full impunity. Everyday and

Teaching is inherently political. Students aren’t passive objects but active change-makers. As profs, we should empower them to push for change. Pedagogy should reflect our times. Resistance to this is often aimed at certain subjects, that deepen marginalization. #AcademicChatter

Glad to have co-authored a chapter with Ulrike Krause (@ulrikekrause.bsky.social) for this wonderful handbook. We explore the Eurocentric, hegemonic, and colonial-ignorant origins of international refugee law and its ongoing gaps. Syed Hassan Nasrallah (1960-2024). He led the Resistance, which will not bend but grow as his memory and example seed a new generation. He fought for his people despite the immense personal cost and was hated by his enemies because he defeated them. I saw him speak in Beirut in

You are shocked by how Trump treated Zelenskyy. But this is not new behavior to us. This is merely new to you because you are shocked to see a European treated in this way. Africans, Asians, and Latin Americans are routinely treated like this. But - out of humility - they do not

“There is no God but God, Muhammad is his messenger,” the paramedic is heard saying. He asks God for forgiveness and says he knows he is going to die. “Forgive me, mother. This is the path I chose — to help people,” he said. “Allahu akbar,” God is great, he says.
