This Wednesday in the Mueller Hall at the RBG Victoria's Melbourne Gardens! A #EucBeaut, FREE seminar with @unimelb and TSR Hub's Assoc. Prof. Peter Vesk about what drives the distribution of southeastern Aus #eucalypts! rbg.vic.gov.au/whats-on/scien… #OzPlants #scicomm #gumtrees
Beyond excited to present my first paper from my PhD with Trent Penman, Jane Cawson and Alex Filkov, published in Journal of Ecology 🔥 🍂 Leaf traits predict global patterns in the structure and flammability of forest litter beds besjournals.onlinelibrary.wiley.com/doi/full/10.11…
Thanks to the The Conversation - Australia + New Zealand for taking an interest in our recent research on litter flammability 🔥🍂🍃
What can the size and shapes of dried leaves tell us about forest fires? Read Jamie Burton @unimelb article on new Journal of Ecology research in the The Conversation - Australia + New Zealand theconversation.com/how-the-size-a…
Many years of work published today in Methods in Ecology and Evolution. FRaME (Fire Research and Modelling Environment) is an R-based model that mechanistically predicts fire behaviour and first-order fire effects (soil & stem heating etc) from plant traits. besjournals.onlinelibrary.wiley.com/doi/10.1111/20…
Excited to share the first chapter of my PhD, published in Fire MDPI this week. Forest structure drives FMC response across alternative forest states 🌳🔥🧐 mdpi.com/2571-6255/4/3/… @asinbar Jamie Burton gary sheridan ForestHydrologyUnimelb
Every plant burns differently, some fast and some slow. But which native plants would be most dangerous to have near your house? smh.com.au/interactive/20… via The Sydney Morning Herald
