This being a joke or not, as someone who has attended dozens of Trump's rallies — including the assassination attempt in Butler, PA — and has been personally threatened repeatedly, I sincerely hope no one attempts to act on this.

Many people have been puzzled by the strong support Trump, a transparent autocrat aspirant, has enjoyed from the Chinese dissident diaspora. There is no puzzle. Many of these people oppose particular autocrats as individual autocrats, not necessarily autocracy per se as a system

Looks like as of today, the #SARNetwork organization in Northern California is changing its name, presumably to get away from recent bad publicity. Our latest report from Hong Kong Democracy Council exposed the HKANC (now HKBANC) as an astroturf group supported by the Hong Kong government.

HKBANC shares an office at 130 Montgomery with the Hong Kong Economic and Trade Office (HKETO) in SF. Civil society actors, politicians, and universities should say #NoToHKETO and its #SARNetwork allies like HKBANC. (thanks to an anon volunteer for snapping this pic just now!)

Meet a few of the Hoyas who are voting for the first time and learn about what voting means to them, from an Afghan refugee to a New Zealander studying U.S. politics and an expatriate from Hong Kong. bit.ly/3UxHTDN

I was privileged to vote and be voted for in Hong Kong when it was partially democratic. Even after fleeing to the UK, I still had the right to vote tho I'm not yet a citizen. Voting is, unfortunately, a privilege not everyone enjoys, so go out and vote if you can. Vote now.

We just won our Senate race! As a son of immigrants, a public school kid, I never could’ve imagined I’d get to serve as a US Senator. I’m deeply humbled and grateful to NJ and for everyone who got us here. I promise I’ll serve with honor and integrity as a public servant for all.

I know friends who are on DED—a condition even less secure than TPS—seeking asylum, or are undocumented. Trump’s America will profoundly impact many people, including exiles who struggle to voice their precarious situations as they face transnational repression and exclusion.

As an activist, I have come to know many human rights defenders currently in America under the Deferred Enforced Departure (DED) policy or with Temporary Protected Status (TPS). (1/x)

Let me share my source of hope. Last night, we put a kind and brilliant public servant in the U.S. Senate, and made history in the process. It’s dark right now. But hate runs out. Hope doesn’t. And if you want to build towards hope: we’ve got a space for you on this team.

Deeply concerned about the continuation of the Hong Kong Deferred Enforced Departure program under the Trump administration, whose campaign has expressed opposition to DED. If not renewed by Feb 5, many Hongkongers in the US will be subject to deportation back to Hong Kong.

Thank you Vice President Kamala Harris for putting your faith in me, and selecting me as your running mate. Campaigning at your side was the honor and privilege of my life.

US Consul General Gregory May has said if the HK gov't wants better relations w/ the US, it must improve treatment of #PoliticalPrisoners. Making human rights a condition of relations is a step forward, but the demand should be for the release of all political prisoners.

Pennsylvania, Michigan, and Wisconsin ended up being so close that Harris might well have won the election if she had leaned into Walz-style populism instead of Cheney-style conservatism.

I know millennials get a bad rap for being corny and too into BuzzFeed quizzes and identifying way too hard with Hogwarts Houses but we’ve been dealt a horrible hand and turned out to be the best generation
