MPs considering how to represent their disabled and ill constituents on the #UCBill tomorrow must not be gaslit on these numbers. This is misleading. The Bill will impoverish people. MPs voting in support of the Bill are voting for poverty. It is after all a political choice.

Yet another trusted voice from Iain Porter on the #UCHealth Bill raising concern about the seeming intentional lack of accuracy and transparency in the #DWP impact assessment of the bill pushed through at speed. It will have a regressive impact on poverty. 👇

The govt has still not assessed the #HumanRights impact of UC and PIP Bill. MPs Nadia Whittome MP and stellacreasy called for vital amendments to change that. 🚨Today, the United Nations CRPD demand answers from UK Government by 11 August to stop further violation to #DisabledPeoples

🚨The UN has written to the government about disability cuts in the UC and PIP Bill 🚨 It says it "has received credible information" indicating that the Bill will "deepen the signs of regression" on disabled people's rights in the UK. The Bill must not proceed.

I'm channeling Alanis to ask MPs to #BinUCBill. Isn’t it #Ironic? Toast champagne with the rich last night-slash support for the poor today. No room at the table for #DisabledPeople, but plenty of gold-plated chairs for a #StateVisit. Ask your MP to vote no. Tell them poverty

The government published an impact assessment overnight highlighting that 750,000 people will likely be on the lower rate of UC health (£50 per week) by 2030. They admit disabled people and women will be much more affected than others. Poverty is a political choice. Publishing

Simply everyone is calling for change at #DWP. We Amnesty UK decided to help them out with a rebrand. Far from delivering social security it is now the #DeptOfWorkAndPoverty If they don't #BinUCBill and stop #TakingThePIP this will be even more of an accurate description.

Following debate on the UC&PIP Bill? Pick up on the mention from Sian Berry about the use of Money Bill regs? I urge you PLEASE read this Public Law Project 🧡 blog- This is no longer the UC&PIP bill- it's likely be a UC & SKIP (scrutiny) bill. This is scandalous. #BinUCBill

Co production has to mean everyone can produce outcomes equally. That means everyone can propose change- and everyone can veto. If the Timms Review is to be more than another consultation it needs to empower all participants or it risks creating expectations that cannot be met.

“Even with the government’s amendments, this Bill would take £3,000 a year from the disabled people of the future. At a time when the extra cost of being disabled is set to rise by 12% in the next 5 years”

🚨BREAKING: The UK govt has forced through its Bill to cut social security - rushing all 3 stages of scrutiny in a single day to avoid accountability. No amount of concessions can disguise this political choice for what it is: an assault on disabled people.

We did not stop the Bill, but we took a huge chunk out of it & the govt panicked, they thought we'd be an easy target, we were not. And we're not going away now we have come together to defend our lives and Rights. A salute to you all! #NothingAboutUsWithoutUs #DisabilityPride
