Rwanda suffering from its first outbreak of Marburg virus disease - a virus related to Ebola. Great to see the strong public health response and clear communications from Ministry of Health | Rwanda There are potential vaccines and treatments for Marburg but they have not yet been tested.


Last week, STEG co-chair Victor Dzau hosted the annual in-person STEG meeting at National Academy of Medicine. The STEG met to distil major areas of progress & barriers to implementing the #100DaysMission in 2024 across 🧪Diagnostics 💊Therapeutics 💉Vaccines 📋 Clinical Trials & Regulations



It’s been one week since #marburg outbreak was declared in 🇹🇿 and work is underway. Under the leadership of our Director General Tedros Adhanom Ghebreyesus, World Health Organization (WHO) committed $3million towards this fight in addition to ongoing technical assistance in the affected district, Biharamulo.
