Underwhelming efficacy of dual ICI in NECs. No responses in pts on PD1/PDL1 monotherapy and 13% ORR with dual ICI therapy with short PFS. How can we select responders? Excellent work, Jennifer Gile, M.D., Patrick McGarrah, MD, Bassam Sonbol, @drjasonstarr & others journals.lww.com/pancreasjourna…

Wednesday Mayo Clinic Internal Medicine Residency Rochester PCC musings with Jennifer Gile, M.D.: there appears to be no medicalized term for nose-blowing, so we are coining one for #MedEd: To blow one's nose is to "rhinexinate" or "narexinate".

There is NO medical term for nose-blowing! .Jennifer Gile, M.D. and I propose “rhinexinate”, from rhin- (Greek rote for nose) and -exinate (an abbreviation from the Latin “exinanio”, to empty out … rhinexinanate doesn’t hit the ear well). Vote for this now! Susie Dent #MedTwitter

Only a few days left to weigh in on adding "rhinexinate" to the medical lexicon -- the word for "nose-blowing" you didn't know you needed. Vote to have your voice heard! #MedTwitter #MedEd Will Susie Dent approve? x.com/ColinWestMDPhD…

Should we add ICIs to platinum/etoposide chemo in extrapulmonary NECs? My answer is NO, not outside of a trial. This retrospective study led by Jennifer Gile, M.D. did not report benefit. Please, please keep SWOG S2012 in mind and enroll whenever possible!! onlinelibrary.wiley.com/doi/10.1111/jn…
