Congratulated President Donald J. Trump on his inauguration today in Washington, DC & welcomed US leadership. His second term will shape foreign and security policy, and be key to the transatlantic bond. As the incoming Chair of Munich Security Conference I look forward to close cooperation.

Good week in Washington DC and World Economic Forum in Davos; Attending the inauguration of President Donald J. Trump & meeting key decision makers from both sides on Capitol Hill. Also met Andriy Yermak & discussed the need for the US to sustain support & Europeans to step up for #Ukraine.

An honour to be appointed as Minister of Finance of Norway in PM Jonas Gahr Støre government. We face geopolitical challenges & a more uncertain world. Economic stability & prosperity will be my focus. It’s a privilege to serve my country, and I am ready to play my part.

Heading back to Norway after productive days at the Munich Security Conference. I met with a range of friends and colleagues from the US & Europe to discuss transatlantic cooperation, tariffs and other key issues.

We did all we could to prevent Russia’s invasion, but we could not give up #Ukraine’s right to be free. Ukraine’s future is their own, but it’s also in our hands. We must do all we can to support those who give all every day. Volodymyr, President Volodymyr Zelenskyy / Володимир Зеленський my friend, Slava 🇺🇦

Good to speak to the Minister of Finance of Poland Andrzej Domański about the prospects of international trade. As US tariffs surge, increasing the likelihood of EU safeguard measures in the future, it’s important that European trade with Norway is not targeted.

Great to meet again Prime Minister Denys Shmyhal of #Ukraine at the U.S. Chamber. #Norway & The Transatlantic Community has stood side by side with Ukraine since Russia’s invasion. We are stepping up our support this year to approx 8 billion EUR to ensure a just & lasting peace.

Great meeting with President Donald J. Trump & Prime Minister Jonas Gahr Støre where we highlighted the strong relationship between the US and #Norway. We addressed global security, the war in #Ukraine, and tariffs & trade. I look forward to continuing our good cooperation.

I commend the Trump Administration for our great cooperation in reaching an energy deal that allows Equinor to resume construction of Empire Wind. This will benefit both our countries & deliver energy to thousands of US households. President Donald J. Trump Treasury Secretary Scott Bessent Secretary Doug Burgum

Arrived in Paris for the OECD ➡️ Better Policies for Better Lives Ministerial Council Meeting. In a time of uncertainty it is key that we maintain dialogue & cooperation with our closest trading partners. I look forward to meeting with friends and colleagues from the US & Europe.

It was good to meet United States Trade Representative Greer. Norway & US enjoy balanced, mutually beneficial trade relations. I welcome any opportunity to strengthen our cooperation further.

Always a pleasure to meet EU Commissioner for Trade and Economic Security Maroš Šefčovič🇪🇺 . In light of growing trade barriers worldwide, I emphasised the importance of continuing our strong tradition of free trade between Norway & EU.

Good discussions with Prime Minister of Ukraine Denys Shmyhal in Paris. Norway stands with Ukraine, and I’m proud of our military & development aid to our Ukrainian friends.

Today Prime Minister Jonas Gahr Støre and I met with President Emmanuel Macron and Eric Lombard to discuss Norway’s sovereign wealth fund. As one of the world’s largest funds, it’s set up to diversify risk through broad exposure.
