Last year we described TRPM7 as a novel candidate gene for hereditary hypomagnesemia. Now we can definitively establish pathogenic variants in TRPM7 as cause for hypomagnesemia, and developmental delay by reporting three novel families. ➡️ academic.oup.com/ckj/advance-ar…

In a new study led by Wouter van Megen and Ron Korstanje in Physiological Genomics : 🧬 We show that variants in Oit3 and Trpm6 are associated with urinary magnesium excretion in mice. 🐁 However, OIT3 KO mice did not confirm its role in renal Mg2+ handling. ➡️ journals.physiology.org/doi/abs/10.115…
