'Hospices are facing a perfect storm, income from fundraising is falling, while cost and demand for their services are rising.' Simon Jupp is right. We need fairer funding for hospices, it's getting critical. Hospiscare

The need for #PalliativeCare will only increase ⬆️ and it’s time hospices received adequate and equitable statutory funding. Take a read of this new publication by the All Party Parliamentary Group for Hospice and End of Life Care. 🔎hospiceuk.org/latest-from-ho… Hospice UK

Please value #CPR for its first-aid benefits that might save 1 in 10 people with #CardiacArrest. Please also recognise when CPR won't help. Here's my CPR talk for TEDx Dun Laoghaire 'Heart-stopping Moments' bit.ly/CPR_atTEDx_DL

Hospices, such as John Taylor Hospice in Erdington, provide vital care to hundreds of thousands of people every year. Sadly, they face serious financial challenges. As a nurse, it breaks my heart to see our NHS in the worst state it has ever been. Watch in full: youtu.be/Go0G2R0LtjM

At the Health and Social Care Committee topical session, I asked the CEO of Hospice UK what more can be done to help fund hospices in poorer areas. Hospices provide invaluable care to terminally ill patients & they often struggle to raise the necessary funds to continue their compassionate work.

Yesterday, I attended the ‘Dining for Dignity’ event with Birmingham Hospice. I heard inspiring stories shared by patients, their families and hospice staff about the exceptional palliative and end-of-life care provided by hospice's. Truly heart-warming and commendable work!
