Great Monkey Cage piece by my colleague Tiffany D. Barnes and her co-authors Dr. Bomi K Lee and @dianazobrien on Madeleine Albright and women in foreign policy.

My first graduate student (Gargi Vyas) just accepted a tenure-track position in Creighton’s Graduate School. She is a talented scholar, instructor, and all around great person. Working with her and seeing her success is one of the highlights of my career. Congrats, Gargi!

I am so happy to see Ashley Leeds recognized for her mentoring efforts. Ashley has many accolades, but her mentoring stands out. She is a talented and generous mentor. I have greatly benefited from her mentorship and many others have as well. Thanks for all you do and congrats!

I am excited to have this co-authored project with Scott Wolford out in JCR.

Alliance and security scholars, Ashley Leeds has provided updated ATOP data and Daina Chiba has updated our foreign policy similarity scores using the new data.

It is so great to see that the UK Peace Studies Program is helping put talented students on a path to earn important and rewarding careers. Congrats Eliot Bradshaw, M.S.!

I am looking forward to having William Spaniel on campus this week. Not only do I have students interested in learning more about Ukraine, but a number of them are familiar with his YouTube channel. Should be fun!

Thanks again, William Spaniel. I appreciate all the time you spent with our students and visiting UK Peace Studies UKy Dept of Poli Sci.

It was awesome to be able to present research to the amazing IR group at Vanderbilt University Political Science. A big thanks to Brad Smith for organizing the visit!

Last week I had the privilege to present at Pitt Poli Sci Global Politics Seminar, and as an added I bonus I got to catch up fellow Ashley Leeds mentee, Burcu Savun. A big thanks to William Spaniel for organizing the visit and taking me on an awesome walking tour of Pittsburgh.

University of Kentucky Political Science UKy Dept of Poli Sci is hiring a teaching postdoc in IR or CP. This is a great position. We have invested a lot of time and energy into developing our undergraduate student culture and training. Here are the details: ukjobs.uky.edu/postings/457530

My second PhD student, Bryce Beschorner, just accepted a teaching position Fort Worth Country Day! He will also have the opportunity to help coach football, which he played in college. During his time UKy Dept of Poli Sci & UK Peace Studies Bryce was one of our best TAs. We will miss having him around.

This was awesome to see! According to the study, we UKy Dept of Poli Sci are a department that seems to “overpunch their weight.” A big thanks to my colleagues that have made that possible.

If you are interested in quantitative information on military mutinies, I encourage you to take a look at Jaclyn Johnson-Avalos work. She wrote a fabulous dissertation on the topic that I was fortunate enough to serve on.

I had an amazing time at the Annual Peace Science Meeting Peace Science Society (International) at WashU Political Science. A highlight was presenting my research with Yasuki Kudo and engaging with so many talented scholars.

This was my final year as UK Peace Studies director. Our final poster session did not disappoint. Working with the students that came through this program has been the most rewarding part of my career.

I am excited to see this new project published in International Studies Quarterly and it is extra exciting because my graduate student, Yasuki Kudo, has his first paper published in the same issue! So be sure to check out this issue if you are interested in alliances politics.
