Triple J's survey of 11,000 Aussies aged 18-29 finds majority are in debt (non-HECS/HELP), w/ few savings, & believe mental health & housing affordability are the most pressing issues they face. Plus interesting questions about drugs, relationships & online behaviours.

Good discussion w/ @HookwayNicholas about the reasons for (& implications of) young Australians living at home longer. How is the trend reshaping their relationships with parents? Great to see a focus on the potential positives of such arrangements for a change.

Young Aussies tend to 'inherit' support for the Australian Greens from their parents much like they do for the older & more established major parties - but there's a catch - it is more unstable over time. Our new paper (w/ Bruce Tranter) just came out! tandfonline.com/doi/abs/10.108…

This data from the young QLD'ers we have tracked since 2006 (ourlives.org.au) also indicates young women fared worse psychologically than young men during national COVID restrictions earlier this year & underscores importance of #jobseeker & #jobkeeper for youth wellbeing

In 2020 & 2021, we did some research with APS Reform. 1) Research with young adults and their experience with public services, within a youth transitions context. 2) Research with then-unreleased data about citizen's satisfaction with services, within a life event framing.
