Can vision language models (VLMs) generate navigation plans from maps? We (David DeFazio Jeremy Blackburn Shiqi Zhang ) show that VLMs can achieve up to 96% accuracy in generating 9-step navigation plans using floor plan map images. arxiv.org/abs/2409.12842 (1/3)

We evaluate Claude and GPT models on floor plan images. Results suggest that VLMs do better in small domains and simple navigation tasks (not surprising), and do better in maps with dense labeling (very interesting). (2/3)
