There was something for everyone at this year's Kid's #Science Open House, an annual event for kids ran by Waterloo Science. As always, kudos to the organisers and to our student volunteers!

Thanks for highlighting our work Journal of Phycology and also to our funders which includes the Phyc. Soc. America and NSERC / CRSNG

Latest pre-print from our lab at University of Waterloo using #AlphaFold for functional predictions of #cyanophage proteins: AlphaFold 3 proteomic modelling reveals multiple photosystem structural homologs in freshwater cyanophages biorxiv.org/content/10.110โฆ

Another one from our team at University of Waterloo in partnership with forWater Network, investigating #virus communities in a #Canadian #lake. Cell-associated viral community composition and its functional potential in a dimictic lake on the Canadian Shield biorxiv.org/content/10.110โฆ

I of course forgot a very important person here who helped us a lot in this work. Thanks Nicolas Tromas

Our graduate student at University of Waterloo Delaney Nash keeps on producing! An excellent collaboration between our lab, Trevor Charles's, and Steven Short's from U of T Mississauga, on sequencing & analysis of a new #algal #Virus genome. One of the most detailed works in this field in recent years.

This was a very inspiring, thought-provoking talk and discussion on debunking myths about #GMOs by two #NobelPrize Laureates: Donna Strickland and Sir Richard Roberts. We are very lucky to have TRuST University of Waterloo organizing such important events. #GoScience #ScienceUpFirst

Great work led by Marc Aucoin's lab University of Waterloo Chemical Engineering Thanks for inviting us (my lab and Trevor Charles's) to be part of this important paper (enabled by the endless efforts of our own grad student Delaney Nash Waterloo Biology) mdpi.com/3230324 #mdpiviruses via Viruses MDPI

Had the privilege to teach #marine #biology this year University of Waterloo, the same subject I studied as a BSc student 2 decades ago University of Plymouth During the course I had wonderful recollections of the #professors I had at the time and the diversity of subjects they passionately covered...

Congratulations to all our co-authors on publishing this great work, led by our own University of Waterloo gradate student Delaney Nash: Hybrid sequencing reveals the genome of a Chrysochromulina parva virus and highlight its distinct replication strategy rdcu.be/emvgP
