I was happy to see this news yesterday. Eugene Tan pointed out how unfortunate it is that we don't have something similar (and if we did, it would have people like you-know-who from Dal). Canada badly needs its own CEA, run by the best economists the country has to offer.

My thoughts: We don't need to be the richest country to be happy. We just need a good house to live in, doctors we can rely on etc. Everything else (like driving fancy cars) can be substituted away for activities that make us happy.
