✍️ As the Big Ten pushes uneven Playoff auto-bids and the SEC ponders, the Big 12 has come out with a unified message: 5+11 is fair for everyone, and it might help you even more, SEC. "Earn it on the field." nytimes.com/athletic/63897…

Friendly reminder that Houston, who finished 11th in the Big 12, was 19 points closer to beating Oklahoma in Norman than Bama was.

The Big 12 has decided to not sell an ownership stake to private equity, commissioner Brett Yormark told Front Office Sports in Orlando. Selling conference naming rights is also 'on pause,' if not completely off the table. More details from our conversation ⤵️ frontofficesports.com/brett-yormark-…

People get rich and comfortable. Then they get bored. Then they invent problems that don’t exist. Then they go insane thinking of dumb solutions to the non-problems. This reality explains a lot of things if you think about it.

The SEC hubris is so wild to me. Texas A&M walked in and won 11 games. Mizzou won 10+ in Year 2 and 3. Texas waltzed in and went straight to championship game. A bad OU team beat Bama in Year 1. Sure, it’s the deepest league. But let’s come back to reality here.

We had Isaac Trotter on today’s 3MAW pod on KC Sports Network to discuss the great piece he wrote on CBS Sports about the addition of Haggerty, overall K-State Men's Basketball roster & why he thinks this is a tourney team. Great stuff. Links: youtu.be/H14EmHTbrp4?si… podcasts.apple.com/us/podcast/kcs…

What WOULD change if the SEC moved to 9-game schedules? I did the math. The difference isn't insignificant -- 1.5 fewer 9-win teams per year, 2 fewer bowl teams. And they should do it anyway because it'd be fun as hell. (And, yes, because of the money.) espn.com/college-footba…

The 5+11 format - 5 champs + 11 at-large bids - is in no way a guarantee for approval as the Big Ten may not support such a model if the SEC remains at 8 conference games. The two parallel discussions - CFP format + SEC 8 or 9 games - are expected to continue the next few weeks.

Kenny Dillingham tells On3 he believes Arizona State can become a Clemson or Oregon, a blue blood of the 2020s. "You can go back in history and figure out which teams have shown up in which era. There hasn’t been a team in this era." Read: on3.com/news/could-ari…

Andrej Kostić is putting on a show for onlooking NBA scouts here at adidas Basketball Eurocamp in Treviso. Dropped 19 points against 3SSB Select, showcasing his shotmaking gifts and some flashes of playmaking sizzle. So naturally talented. Looks more than ready for the Big 12.
