Related: I hate being invited to panels because "we need a woman." If you respect my work & want me there, I want to be there. If you don't, then don't waste my time. I also would hate being excluded from a panel because I'm female; happily, that's less of an issue these days.

Have found this to be true. And the next step (and it can be a doozy) is being willing to stand in integrity when the world reminds you you're not who it wants you to be. And next after THAT? Be willing to listen to its feedback and evolve if it's on point.
