Among the least likeable of human beings are bullies, and those who toady to them. Trump – Putin’s Poodle – manages to combine both: his arrogant bullying of Zelensky, in the service of his barfworthy toadying to the Russian bully. freethoughtblogs.com/pharyngula/202…

No one asked him in 1942 The White House to say thank you. No one told him that he had no cards. No one made fun of his outfit. Back then, everyone knew we were on the side of freedom and against tyranny. Today, those lines tragically are blurred.

It's also interesting to see all these employment decisions being made at FDA by HHS before the new commissioner is even confirmed (Makary). I think it shows RFK's disrespect for Makary and/or the FDA commissioner 's role itself.

It's quite clear that no one "of similar stature and credibility" would either take the job or be offered it by RFK. Coming off of a long drive, I was thinking how nice it would be to go back to criticizing the revolving door between industry/agency or calling for CRLs to be

Biotech VC Bruce Booth said on Fri's Biotech Hangout there's a "huge contraction" in # of new US biotech startups getting formed. He saw early data for Q1 '25 of new 1st financings & only a little >50. In Q1 '18/'19 it was ∼100. In Q1 '21 it was ∼180, he said. Maybe Q1 '25 will land

The SAVE Act would block voting rights for up to 69 million women—just because they changed their names. Mismatch a maiden name? No vote. Can’t afford a $165 passport? Too bad. This is not security—it’s targeted suppression. Tell the Senate: VOTE NO. #SaveDemocracy

As people chew on MFN this am, it’s worth reminder about other significant US vs. EU healthcare cost differences. Every system different. You cannot simply import foreign prices. If we want to really lower prices for Americans, get rid of OOP costs!

Big Pharma has no problem committing billions to moving part of its manufacturing to the US to appease Trump, but they'll fight MFN pricing tooth and nail. I don't see Trump making it stick. But the new bomb throwing destabilizes the industry even more. Heckuva sorry excuse for
