RCT introduction of a pollution market in Surat, Gujarat. Pollution fell by 20–30%, and efficiently — gains came from the firms who could cut pollution most effectively. Mortality benefits are *25 times* costs. An incredible state/research collaboration. 1/2

Not that I'm volunteering (good lord no), but if I were dean of faculty, my regime would focus on 1) IT annoyances 2) Reimbursement annoyances 3) Form/paper work annoyances and then I'd tweet about how good we were on these dimensions & beat every other school in hiring

Gov't agencies love these elaborate construct-a-data-set GUIs / shopping cart widgets when they'd almost certainly be more useful to their real users if they just gave you a link to a big CSV & a codebook

It frustrates me an unbelievable amount how some universities (who will remain nameless) will send 10 emails a week about being world leaders in AI but then require a 10 step, months long security review to reimburse a chatGPT 4 subscription...

The swings states are very relatable to me, a person who assumes I can finish everything by midnight but actually will need several more days
